  5.     The Blue Wave Offline Mail System is designed to save you time and money
  6.     when calling the BBS, while still being able to actively participate in
  7.     your favorite conferences.  You can download selected areas to your
  8.     computer for later reading and replying at your convenience, allowing
  9.     you to trim your phone bills without missing out on any of your favorite
  10.     discussions!

  12.     For detailed documentation of each function of The Blue Wave Offline
  13.     Mail System, it is highly recommended that you read the operations
  14.     manual supplied with your copy of The Blue Wave Offline Mail Reader.
  15.     (The SysOp may also have this manual available as a separate download.)

  17.     The next few screens will display information pertaining to the main
  18.     functions of the mail door.  Submenus (such as the Configuration Menu)
  19.     will have their own help screens for the functions available on those
  20.     menus.  Just follow the prompts, and you'll have no trouble!

  24.     D)ownload New Mail
  25.     ------------------
  26.     Takes you to the download area, where a mail scan will be performed, and
  27.     you will be able to dynamically bundle mail in your defined conference
  28.     areas.  By using the Blue Wave Bundling Commands, you have the power to
  29.     build your own custom mail packet!

  31.     U)pload Replies
  32.     ---------------
  33.     Takes you to the upload area, where you will be prompted to send the
  34.     upload packet (created with The Blue Wave Offline Mail Reader) to the
  35.     BBS.  Your replies will then be posted in the BBS message base, just as
  36.     if you had written them online!

  38.     C)onfiguration Menu
  39.     -------------------
  40.     Takes you to the configuration area, where you can define your default
  41.     settings.  Here you will select your compression method (ZIP, ARJ, LZH,
  42.     etc.), protocol (Zmodem, Xmodem, etc.), HotKeys mode, Xpert Mode,
  43.     Password (SECURE) options, and Keyword/Filter definitions.  Please see
  44.     the user documentation (described previously) for in-depth discussions
  45.     of these functions.

  47.     P)acket Type
  48.     ------------
  49.     Allows you to select which type of mail packet to download.  Two types
  50.     are available:  Blue Wave (the door's native format) and QWK (a format
  51.     which is popular and widespread, but lacks the power and flexibility of
  52.     the Blue Wave format).

  54.     If you are using The Blue Wave Offline Mail Reader, or a reader which is
  55.     Blue Wave compatible, it is recommended that you use the Blue Wave
  56.     format for your mail packets, as it allows you to take full advantage of
  57.     the capabilities of both the door and your mail reader.

  59.     If, however, you are using a mail reader that does not support Blue Wave
  60.     packets, set this option to generate QWK packets.  You will not be able
  61.     to make use of all the door's features (such as file requesting and
  62.     advanced offline configuration), but many features (such as Bundling
  63.     Commands) that don't rely on the advanced capabilities of the Blue Wave
  64.     format will still be available.

  66.     NOTE:  This item may or may not be available to you, depending on
  67.            whether or not the SysOp has registered the door.  If the door is
  68.            not registered, only the Blue Wave format will be available.

  72.     Takes you back to your favorite BBS system.

  76.     Logs you off of your favorite BBS system.  This item may be disabled
  77.     by your sysop.

  81.     Turns the door's EXPERT menus on and off.  You should not use expert
  82.     menus if you are not familiar with the way the door operates.
